Potential roles for PFD Partners
We are looking for one PFD partner. Patient partners are valued members of the National HIV-Positive Living Kidney Donation Working Group who contribute their lived experience to help inform the development of national guidance for the assessment of living kidney donor candidates living with HIV.
Their participation helps ensure that recommendations are patient-centered, equitable, and reflective of the real-world experiences and perspectives of patients and potential donors. Patient partners are expected to:
- Review meeting materials in advance and participate in virtual working group meetings.
- Share perspectives and insights based on lived experience when comfortable doing so.
- Ask questions when information or terminology is unclear.
- Contribute to respectful, collaborative discussions with working group members.
- Consider how recommendations may impact the broader patient community.
- Maintain confidentiality of meeting materials, discussions, and information shared by other participants.
Patient partners are not expected to be clinical experts, understand all technical content, represent all people living with HIV, or share personal experiences beyond their comfort level.
Their primary contribution is providing a patient perspective that helps shape guidance that is safe, equitable, evidence-informed, and responsive to the needs of people living with HIV and potential living kidney donors.
