Living organ donation is a life-saving procedure that gives thousands of patients a second chance at life each year. However, Living Organ Donors (LODs) may experience adverse health and psychological outcomes and have reported inadequate long-term psychosocial care.

We aim to address this gap in care by examining the role of psychological resilience, which refers to one’s ability to positively respond to stress. This characteristic has previously been linked to superior outcomes across many patient populations and has been shown to be modifiable.

  • We will be conducting a cross-sectional study assessing resilience, quality of life, anxiety, and depression through an online self-administered survey.
  • We will examine the associations among resilience and adverse physical and psychological outcomes to evaluate its role in improving long-term care and well-being of LODs.

By better understanding the role of resilience in this population, we then better understand profiles of LODs and their psychological risk and lay the foundation for developing approaches to better support them.

Expérience requise

PFD Partners will be asked to complete a single 20 minute survey online.

Rôles potentiels pour les partenaires PFD

PFD Partners' role will consist solely of completing a single online survey through REDCap. The survey will take around 15 minutes to complete and the targeted total sample size in 1000 responses.
